(December 2008) – Deaconess Associations Inc. (DAI) has appointed Patrick Ward as the Executive Director of the Deaconess Associations Foundation, the subsidiary of DAI charged with raising and allocating funds to support worthwhile healthcare causes. In this role, Ward will also direct fund raising efforts on behalf of Deaconess Hospital and Deaconess Long Term Care.
“The broad range of Pat’s experience makes him an excellent choice to guide Deaconess Associations’ philanthropic initiatives,” says E. Anthony Woods, Chairman of Deaconess Associations. “He will be responsible for spearheading and expanding the Foundation’s efforts, which will support the mission
of DAI.”
Since 2000, Ward previously served as Vice President of Fifth Third Bank’s Charitable Management Services Group. He has over 25 years of experience in the non-profit world, including 15 years as President and CEO of the local Bethesda Foundation. Dedicated to community advancement, Ward serves as Chairman of the Cincinnati Parks Foundation. He is on the board of the Visiting Nursing Association, as well as the Corporation for Findlay Market. Past service also includes the Urban Health Project for U.C., Springer School, Ursuline Academy, and St. Joseph Home and Family Services of Cincinnati.
Deaconess Associations is the parent company of Deaconess Hospital and Deaconess Long Term Care, which owns and operates twenty-four long term care facilities in the Midwest. Locally, these facilities include Scarlet Oaks Retirement Community, Cottingham Retirement Community, Mason Health Care Center and Continental Manor in Blanchester.
